Daman delivers as Norskies drop Iron Rangers

THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. – Alec Daman scored four times, including the game-winner, to reach the 100-point plateau in his Superior International Junior Hockey League career Tuesday in leading the Thief River Falls Norskies to a 7-2 victory over the Minnesota Iron Rangers at Ralph Engelstad Arena.

Daman started his big night by opening the scoring nearly eight minutes into the contest.

Minnesota came back to tie it at 13:34 as Joshua Baker converted on a man advantage opportunity at 13:34.

The Norskies then went back in front for good late in the first period as Blake Nelson and Daman connected 40 seconds apart to go up 3-1 after one.

It was more Thief River Falls in the middle session starting with a Brett Piper power play tally at 5:33.

Nelson then struck shorthanded two and a half minutes later to extend the home side’s cushion before Daman registered his first SIJHL hat trick at 11:37.

Zach Finke got one back for the Iron Rangers before the stanza was complete to make it 6-2.

Daman then capped off his impressive night with his fourth of the evening in the third to cap off the win on a night where he scored for a fourth straight outing.

Boe Bjorge dished out three assists in the triumph as he extended a consecutive game point streak to seven in the process.

In all, seven Norskies’ skaters had multi-point nights in the decision.

Bailey Schmitz recorded the victory while Synjen Amende and Nick Corneliusen both saw time in net in defeat for Minnesota.
