David Beito - Governor / Owner
David Beito has lived in Thief River Falls, MN all of his life except for his time at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN and Columbia University in New York City. He enjoys his lifelong work as a community banker at Northern State Bank (TRF) and his time serving on the volunteer boards of the ODC, Inc. of Thief River Falls, The Thief River Falls Chamber of Commerce, the Minnesota Bankers Association and the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce.
In 2008, he was appointed by Governor Tim Pawlenty to the Minnesota Governor’s 21st Century Tax Commission. Beito previously served on the MeritCare Board of Trustees and began his Sanford Health Board of Trustee membership in 2009 where he currently serves as Chairman
Tim Bergland - President / Owner
Tim Bergland is a native of Thief River Falls. A 1983 graduate of Lincoln High School he was the number one draft pick from Minnesota chosen by the Washington Capitals in 1983. Bergland played the next 4 years for the University of Minnesota and served as captain his senior year. While at the U of M he was a Williams Scholar as well as a weight lifting All-American. He spent the next 12 years playing professional hockey. The majority of his career was spent with the Washington Capitals, and Tampa Bay Lightning, with stops in Atlanta, Chicago and Helsinki. As well, in 1995 Bergland played in the World Hockey Championships for Team USA.
Upon his retirement from professional hockey in 1999, he jumped into the coaching ranks in Minnesota HS hockey. He coached in Fergus Falls from 1999-2004, and then moved back to Thief River Falls. He currently coaches the Lincoln High School Prowlers. Bergland has brought his teams to 8 State Tournament appearances; 4 with Fergus Falls and 4 with Thief River Falls, respectively. He has been named section coach of the year several times as well as is in demand as a trainer and hockey consultant. He currently runs Northwest Acceleration speed and strength training.
Tim is married to Claudia and has 3 kids, Isak, Emily, and Grace.
Dr. Jodi Bergland Holen - Vice President / Owner / Educational Advisor
Dr. Jodi Bergland Holen was born and raised in Thief River Falls and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1975. She presently is an Associate Professor at the University of North Dakota where she teaches courses on research methodologies and educational philosophy.
She holds a Masters Degree in Piano Pedagogy from Columbia University and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of North Dakota. While at Columbia she was a Steinway Scholar, and at UND she has been named an Action Research Scholar and holds the Danley Endowed Professorship. Dr. Bergland Holen has given numerous national and international papers and is published in the area of school research and Problem Based Learning.
Hockey has played a major role in her life as she has three brothers and three sons that have played at every level of the sport. She is excited to be a part of bringing a new level of hockey to the players and fans of Thief River Falls.
Kevin McCallum - Owner
Kevin McCallum has been involved at the Junior A level since the age of 7 when he started as a stick boy with the Thunder Bay Flyers (USHL) and continued on as a player with the Thunder Bay Wolves ( now Thunder Bay North Stars) Espanola Eagles of the NOJHL and Washington Little Caps of the MJHL.
He spent 8 years after college as an Athletic Therapist for various teams in the Canadian Junior Hockey League. He also served as a coach for the Sioux Lookout Flyers and Thunder Bay Wolverines of the SIJHL.
He has owned and operated his own college recruiting company for the last 8 years and has helped further the careers of over 100 athletes to colleges all over North America. Kevin also helped in the start of Lakehead University's baseball program and coached there for 3 seasons.
Kevin's father also worked for the Thunder Bay North Stars franchise for more than 10 seasons. Kevin is the Grandson of former New York Rangers Assistant GM and Manitoba hockey hall of famer Mickey Keating.
Kevin is excited to call Thief River Falls home and help build the Norskies into one of the premier franchises in all of Junior hockey.
